About me

Funtours Valencia

Hi! My name is Esther. Being a curious world-traveler, I love to immerse myself into new cultures. I was born in Colombia but raised by a loving Dutch couple in Curacao for part of my childhood. Afterwards we moved to a little town called Tiel in the heart of Holland.

So I’m a mix of cultures taking my calmness and cool for life from the Dutch and my fiery lust for adventure from the Latinos!

I’m fond of sunny weather and immaculate blue skies so Holland wasn’t my place to be. Therefore, I packed my bags eight years ago, wandering around like a tourist myself. I fell in love with Valencia from the start! Everything else fell into place.

As I speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, working in tourism was the obvious choice.

Working for myself just came along with it, combining my previous job as a teacher, with new skills I’ve developed over the years as a local guide.

I started from scratch and stayed on my own so whenever you book with Funtours Valencia, you’ll be sure to go on a tour with me.

As all my tours are private or small, I only see genuine happy faces. Personal attention makes my job much more valuable. Valencia has become a very popular destination and it is a pleasure to see all those curious travelers from around the globe, discovering ‘my city’ the way I once did.

So let me be your local guide and remember what the Spanish say: ‘Mi casa es su casa’ You are welcome anytime!

Stay humble, work hard, be kind.
We age not by years, but by stories.
Want to be happy? Stop buying things and go travel.
Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.
